Goodwin Porter Hétu Accounting Company

The firm of Goodwin Porter Hétu, formerly known as Duncan W Goodwin, Certified General Accountant has been serving the Town of Georgina and beyond for over 25 years. It was started in 1990 by Bill (Wm) Riggs, CGA, a retired high school accounting teacher, with the help of a part time bookkeeper.

In 2004, Duncan Goodwin, a former Sutton High School accounting student of Bill’s took over the practice on a full time basis. The firm now has four dedicated people working full time, including another professional accountant, a bookkeeper, as well as a personal tax specialist. Additionally, a seasonal personal tax preparer joins the firm for several months in the spring, along with part time staff or co-op students as required.

The Team

The background of the staff is varied and deep. From enterprise level financial systems management implementation, to public company reporting, to personal tax preparation and small business administration and management, the staff of Goodwin Porter Hétu bring this experience to the field of public accounting for small and medium sized business services.

Future Plans

As the Town of Georgina grows, our desire is to continue to grow with it, and to grow alongside our clients that make our firm successful. Our goals include expanding our business advisory services in support of emerging business as well as our personal financial planning and estate advisory and tax services to meet the needs of the growing retirement community in our area.
